Fire Pump Set

Industrial Pumps Australia delivered a custom-engineered diesel-driven fire pump package to replace an obsolete model no longer supported by the OEM. The upgrade included a Southern Cross ISO pump, new Cummins diesel driver, and custom manifolds — achieving superior performance, full AS2941 compliance, and compatibility with existing site infrastructure.

  • The client required a diesel-driven fire pump replacement after the existing unit became unserviceable and obsolete. A like-for-like pump was unavailable, and the proposed replacement required extensive dimensional adjustments.


    Key challenges included:

    • Different flange positions requiring pipe modifications

    • A smaller diesel driver footprint needing baseplate modifications

    • Corrosion protection to extend service life in a harsh operating environment


    Industrial Pumps Australia selected a Southern Cross ISO pump with a hydraulic performance curve closely matched to the original unit. The pump was internally coated with epoxy ceramic lining to mitigate future corrosion issues. A Cummins diesel engine was supplied along with a flexible shaft coupling and custom suction/discharge manifolds for seamless connection to the existing pipework.


    The pump and driver were mounted on a modified baseplate—avoiding the need to alter the site’s existing plinth—and the package was fully factory-tested, exceeding the original pump’s performance while meeting AS2941 standards for fire pump installations.
